REVIEW : The Queen by Tiffany Reisz

RELEASE DATE : TODAY MOTHERFUCKERS!!!! October 27, 2015

“This is a new life I’m living. I am reborn. And all babies cry when they’re born.”

The time has come and many tears have been shed. The final book of the Original Sinners is here. It is time to say goodbye to my favorite unholy trinity of Søren, Kingsley and of course the one and only Mistress Nora.

REVIEW: Menagerie by Rachel Vincent

RELEASE DATE : September 29, 2015

“But if monsters could look like humans, and humans could look like monsters, how could anyone ever really be sure that the right people stood on the outside of all those cages?”

So much praise for this one. Absolutely brilliant and twisted take on a fantasy world. If you've ever read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, this has much of the same visual vibe but the story is much darker. There is a lot of disturbing parts to get through in this book but it is so engaging.

REVIEW: End of Day (Jack & Jill 1) by Jewel E. Ann

RELEASE DATE : August 17, 2015
“I felt like a leaf falling from a tree and he was the wind whispering, I’ve got you.”

Jewel E. Ann SLAYS! I am totally in love with her writing.

Okay so to get things started, the Knight twins formerly Day, are trying to find their place in a new environment both mentally and physically. Book 1 is mainly focused on Jessica/Jillian and her battle to overcome her past. I absolutely love how brutal and beautiful she is as a character.

I FELT THIS CHICK.

REVIEW: Wicked Lies by Lora Leigh

RELEASE DATE : September 1, 2015
"Something about you just makes me hard as hell."

Now this is the Lora Leigh I love!

I really love second chance stories. Intense plot and great characters and I fell for the mystery right at the start. While it was rather easy to figure out, that didn't stop my enjoyment as the secret was revealed to others. So much emotion was packed into this one as well as mucho alpha male.

REVIEW : Anything But Broken by Joelle Knox

RELEASE DATE : August 25, 2015

“God, it’s been a terrible idea the whole time, hasn’t it? What are we even doing?” His smile is slow, but it carries a promise behind it—absolute, unspeakable joy. “Falling in love.”

Ok just a little background on this. For those that aren't aware this is a new series by the ladies known as Kit Rocha who are behind the ultra-crazy and amazing Beyond series and in my opinion they have struck gold once again. I am a MASSIVE Kit Rocha fangirl so I am doing my best to not just say FUCKING BUY IT!.....but yeah you should totally fucking buy it and everything they put out.

REVIEW : Secret Pleasure by Lora Leigh

RELEASE DATE: August 18, 2015

Sebastian and Shane De Loren were born to love Alyssa Hampstead. No other woman on Earth can burn for them, ignite with passion between them, the way Alyssa does. But after three sensual months of pleasure come to a crashing halt, Sebastian and Shane are left fighting their powerful family, risking it all to have Alyssa one more time...
Alyssa has closed off her heart. A senator's daughter in the political spotlight, she'd rather be quiet and safe than feel the emotional intensity Sebastian and Shane roused within her years ago. But when the sexy cousins blaze their way back into her life, Alyssa cannot help but succumb to the heady pleasures the two men can give her. And as an unknown enemy draws near, Alyssa will need Sebastian and Shane to protect her...and satisfy every forbidden craving...

Okay I’m going to try and be nice about this but in all honesty I was so disappointed. I’m keeping this review short and to the point because it felt so disjointed and the time hops just pulled me right out of the book.

I usually love Lora Leigh’s writing but something about this one just didn’t work. I mean at the start you get the feel that there is going to be a bit of fairy-tale fantasy mixed around but it was very over the top. It was close to becoming a DNF I’m sad to say.

Also, spoiler alert but uhm Alyssa’s first time…no.

REVIEW : Riding Dirty by Jill Sorenson

RELEASE DATE : August 17, 2015
"His technique was as raw and dirty as his kisses."
Holy shit.

This was really fucking good. The plot was crazy and exciting and the sex...
Oh my dear Lord in heaven I wanted to sin with them.
I guess the only heads up I would give is that the sex gets VERY explicit, which is probably why I loved it so much.

RELEASE DATE : August 25, 2015
REVIEW COMING SOON!
The first in the new series by Joelle Knox (AKA Kit Rocha!)

Short Excerpt
“Everything has to come together. It’s skill, but it’s also luck. If you’re good enough, you can beat better cars. And if you suck, the best car in the world can’t win you checkered flags. Sometimes you have both, but something happens to fuck it all up—a guy spinning out on the back stretch right in front of you, or a caution that blows your giant lead on second place. When you have all three, though, it’s magical.” — Sean, Anything but Broken

Now, it's time for her to spread her wings and become the person she wants to be, and she's more than ready to work for it. It's only a matter of months before she learns that her final night in Vancouver was never the end at all. It was the beginning.

When Tennyson Wright lets Sophie go, he knows something has to change. He's lost sight of who he is, and the wakeup call isn't pretty. GO SEE AMERICAN ULTRA!

REVIEW : Penalty Play (Power Play #3) by Lynda Aicher

RELEASE DATE : August 10, 2015
"Love is a gamble we have no control over."

This series is sports greatness it’s just the honest to goodness truth. I reviewed book 2 of the series last year and that left me a damn mess. Penalty Play continued my emotional destruction. Aicher can seriously pull out the big guns in a hockey series of all things! Kudos.

REVIEW: Take the Fall (Take the Fall #1) by Marquita Valentine

 RELEASE DATE : July 21, 2015
"You're my compass...I'll always follow you back home"
I've been in somewhat of a book slump lately but this book snapped me right out of it. It’s a really beautiful mixture of sweet and steamy. Just straight slays a bitch with feels.

REVIEW: Sweet the Sin (Revenge Saga #1) by Claire Kent

RELEASE DATE : July 7, 2015

Even as I write this review I'm not quite sure of my feelings on it. I didn't hate it and actually believe it got a lot better midway through. Maybe I just didn't like certain aspects of it.

REVIEW: Lawyer Up by Kate Allure

SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE : August 4, 2015
All rise... Three sizzling-hot, deliciously taboo erotic romances to stoke your mood.
Wrongly accused in Attorney-Client Privileges, sexy but innocent Beth has nowhere to turn but straight into the arms of hotshot L.A. lawyer, Jon. Can this attorney manage to get her off in time?
Liza reaches a meeting of the minds-and more-when she unleashes her inhibitions and gives herself over to the primal allure of Main Street lawyer Hawk in Of Unsound Mind and Body.
In Of Writs and Writhing, fearless defense attorney Pat gets more than she bargained for when she goes toe-to-toe with New Orleans' infamous Playboy Judge. When things get heated both in and out of the courtroom, more than temperatures rise.
So this features three separate shorts dealing with lawyers and judges in someway. I wanted to like this because I like the idea and setting but I really wanted to drop it after the opening point of view. It read a bit like bad soft-core porn dialogue. Sucks to be disappointed but here are the story breakdowns.

REVIEW: Never Loved by Charlotte Stein

SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE : June 23, 2015
Beatrix Becker spent most of her life under the thumb of her controlling, abusive father. And now that she’s free and attending her dream college, she has no idea how to act like the normal crowd: partying, going on dates, even having a conversation. Then she meets Serge Sorensen. Big and surly with a whole host of riotous tattoos, Serge is supposed to scare the hell out of her. But beneath his harsh exterior, Beatrix discovers a kindred spirit who knows what it’s like to be a misfit. Most exhilarating—and terrifying—is what he does for a living: illegal street fighting.

There’s nothing like the rush Serge gets from the intense athleticism and brutal glory of combat—though his chemistry with Beatrix comes close. Slowly at first, he introduces her to his world, where he lives by instinct, passion, and desire. He even helps her out with her equally traumatized brother. But when Serge gets in too deep with the wrong people, he ends up paying in blood. And suddenly, just as Beatrix has been drawn into Serge’s perfectly sculpted arms, she’s thrown once and for all into the fight of his life.

Mentioning Abbi Glines might have been the first clue that I might have a love/hate with this one. I usually like Charlotte's work but this one while extremely entertaining, just felt like there was too many things happening all at once.

REVIEW : Cheaters Anonymous by Lacey Silks

RELEASE DATE : April 21, 2015
High school friends - nothing more.
That was our promise to each other, because let's face it, infidelity spreads like a disease.
Everybody cheats.
Period.
And it's easier to remain friends than hurt the only person you ever cared about - or so we thought.

Major case of 'don’t judge a book by its cover' and pleasantly surprised by this one. Not at all what I thought when I saw the cover and title. It was exact opposite to be honest.
When you see a title like "cheaters anonymous", my expectations were a couple that while in love just couldn't keep it together. Yeah, I wasn't even close.

REVIEW: Unblocked : Episode 3 ( Timber Towers book 3) by Marni Mann

RELEASE DATE: May 13, 2015
Derek Block confronts his past. Frankie Jordan's past pursues her.
Secrets threaten to keep them apart.
They want to let go of each other, but can’t.
Their passion is too hot to resist.
Things are scorching as real estate gets real…
This is Episode Three of the five-episode Timber Towers novella series
The unblocked serial continues to be extra sexy and more dramatic than ever.
I also took notice of the new covers. Think I prefer the old look and tag to be honest.

REVIEW: Accidentally in Love by Laura Drewry

RELEASE DATE : June 16, 2015
Ellie Palmer and cops don’t mix, and getting pulled over by Officer Brett Hale—again—doesn’t help. Neither does being forced to take a safe-driving course with him. Brett’s by-the-book attitude leaves Ellie ice-cold, and his rock-hard body won’t change that. Still, the more time she spends with the guy, the more she finds herself warming up to his unexpected charms.

Even though Brett comes off like a boy scout, Ellie has sparked something he wants badly enough to get him to rethink his past mistakes. But when her ex shows up, Brett makes it his mission to keep Ellie safe in the here and now. His gut tells him the guy’s trouble, and Ellie must agree, because she doesn’t complain when Brett pulls her close. To keep her safe, though, he’ll have to choose between breaking her heart . . . and breaking the rules.

This was a pretty fun read for me. It had a very sweet and slow burn with a major dramatic punch.

REVIEW: Falling Fast by Tina Wainscott

RELEASE DATE : June 16, 2015

That might be harder still. Lucky for them both, Mia’s never been the kind of woman to take the easy way out.

Oh my lord I completely fell in love with Raleigh and Mia. This was such an amazing journey with their love trying to overcome every obstacle. Fuck man, these feels messing with my cold heart.

REVIEW : What Lies Behind by J.T. Ellison

RELEASE DATE : May 26, 2015
Waking to sirens in the night is hardly unusual for Samantha Owens. No longer a medical examiner, she doesn't lose sleep over them, but a routine police investigation in her neighborhood has her curious. When her homicide detective friend, Darren Fletcher, invites her to look over the evidence, she jumps at the chance and immediately realizes the crime scene has been staged. What seems to be a clear case of murder/suicide—a crime of passion—is anything but. The discovery of toxic substances in hidden vials indicates that something much more sinister is at play…

As Fletch and Sam try to understand what and who they are dealing with, they are summoned to a meeting at the State Department. High-level officials are interested in what they know and seem to be keeping secrets of their own. It's up to Sam and Fletch to uncover what lies behind the deception as the threat of bio-terrorism is exposed, and her boyfriend, Xander Whitfield, may be in the line of fire.

Unsure who to trust, Sam and Fletch find themselves up against very powerful people at every stage in the investigation. No one is who they appear to be and with every minute that passes, the danger escalates. It's Sam's most complex case yet and the terrifying reality is beyond anything she could have imagined.

Thanks to Net Galley and Harlequin books for the copy.

Sorry, it took me some time to finish this one with real life getting in the way. I tend to go for more fast paced mystery thrillers so this was a little slow on the build for me but it was enjoyable.

UPDATE: ULTRA STYLE!

Yeah sorry about the lack of reviews lately, real life got in the way. Hopefully I'll be able to get in a review this weekend along with a Block Head and some other stuff.

Till then, peace and love.

OH WAIT!

Check out this fuck awesome trailer for American Ultra! I have been waiting for this since it was announced last year. I absolutely adore Jesse and Kristen and I loved them in Adventureland. Max Landis is a crazy ass genius for the script. Enjoy! Oh and thank you for the use of Hey Mama.

REVIEW : Nova and Quinton: No Regrets by Jessica Sorensen

RELEASE DATE : April 7, 2015
Today is the first day of Quinton Carter's new life. The toxic guilt of his past left him in pieces-but one girl unexpectedly put him back together. Thanks to Nova Reed, Quinton can finally see the world with clear eyes. She's the reason his heart is still kicking behind the jagged scar on his chest. And he would love to have her in his arms every minute of the day . . . but he's not ready yet.

Playing drums in a band and living with her best friends are just some of the highlights of Nova's life. But the best new development? Talking to Quinton on the phone each night. She wishes she could touch him, kiss him, though she knows he needs time to heal. Yet shocking news is on the way-a reminder of life's dark side-and Nova will need Quinton like he once needed her. Is he strong enough to take the final leap out of his broken past . . . and into Nova's heart?

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC.

Let me start by saying that I have not read the other parts to this series but I have read at least a handful of works by Jessica Sorensen. One of the things that continue to make me a new fan is her ability to draw out some serious emotions in her words. Her stories aren’t sappy or your typical happily ever after. Each story is both heartbreaking and uplifting.

REVIEW : Luckiest Girl Alive: A Novel by Jessica Knoll

SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE : May 12, 2015
HER PERFECT LIFE IS A PERFECT LIE.

As a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani FaNelli endured a shocking, public humiliation that left her desperate to reinvent herself. Now, with a glamorous job, expensive wardrobe, and handsome blue blood fiancé, she’s this close to living the perfect life she’s worked so hard to achieve.

But Ani has a secret.

There’s something else buried in her past that still haunts her, something private and painful that threatens to bubble to the surface and destroy everything.

With a singular voice and twists you won’t see coming, Luckiest Girl Alive explores the unbearable pressure that so many women feel to “have it all” and introduces a heroine whose sharp edges and cutthroat ambition have been protecting a scandalous truth, and a heart that's bigger than it first appears.

The question remains: will breaking her silence destroy all that she has worked for—or, will it at long last, set Ani free?

Special thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the ARC.

It took me some time to complete this book. Not because it was bad or anything because it is very far from that, but because it is just so incredibly disturbing. I may have put it in the freezer once or twice. Gosh I hope people get that reference.

REVIEW : Hate F*@k : The Horus Group Book 3 by Ainsley Booth

Hailey:
In the blink of an eye, everything changed, and I can’t pretend I don’t need Cole anymore.

The final episode in the love story of an ex-Navy SEAL and the curvy good girl he can't resist!

Major thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC.

REVIEW: Two Week Turnaround by Geneva Lee

           RELEASE DATE : April 14, 2015
1. Replace Your Vices
There isn't a coked-out celebutant in Hollywood that Sofia King can’t turn around. That is, until her producer father calls in a crazy huge favor... to turn-around the one guy Sofia never wanted to see again.
2. Reduction of Free Time
Actor-out-of-control Isaac Blue is as insanely sexy-hot as ever. The kind of hot that makes a woman toss both inhibitions and panties. All Sofia needs to do is keep Isaac on the straight and narrow until filming wraps up... which means there’s only one way Sofia can keep his attention.
3. One day (night) at a Time
Her plan involves replacing Isaac’s vices with raw, no-holding-back sex. With her.
Sofia tells herself she knows that she’s in control. That in two weeks, Isaac will be a changed man. And then she tells herself that there’s no way she could ever fall for Isaac Blue again...

Major thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Books for the ARC.

Sofia King is called in to fix the reputation of Hollywood bad boy Isaac Blue. Sofia’s father doesn’t seem to care that his daughter and her possible client have a past together. He only wants the best on the job.

Isaac most definitely does not remember the woman who appears at his hotel door, but he does remember the woman she used to be. Fia Maxx, his former co-star and lover and the woman who broke his heart 6 years earlier.

Sofia doesn’t quite see their past in the same way and doesn’t want to consider a future with him but her plan to keep their relationship professional is quickly falling apart. Isaac wants to give them another shot and it looks like he can get Sofia to agree, of course that’s before Sofia learns of the real reason why they didn't last.

This was a short and sexy read. Very fun take on Hollywood and all that drama.

REVIEW : Back in Play (Power Play #2) by Lynda Aicher

SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE : May 11, 2015
For Minnesota Glaciers captain Scott Walters, skating on a bum knee—and self-medicating to keep skating on it—is all part of the game. That the painkillers he's eating prevent him from having meaningful relationships is just one more sacrifice in a lifetime of them. He's worked too hard to let his image be ruined by injury or dependency, so he hides the pain and fakes the rest—a girlfriend would only complicate matters.
High school teacher Rachel Fielding never needed a man in her life, but she also never intended to grow old alone. When she meets Scott while visiting her brother, she's intrigued to find herself wanting him in her bed. For hours at a time, as often as possible. Scott is a giver, and just the memory of his attentions is enough to drive her crazy. Anything long-term is out of the question, though—the pills she finds in Scott's house indicate he's struggling with a lot more than growing older in a young man's game.
When what starts out as a what-the-hell week long fling turns into Scott and Rachel exploring each other outside the bedroom, Rachel hesitates. But Scott asks for her support to break his addiction, and hearing him admit his secrets has her ignoring her own rules—until he breaks her heart. With the Glaciers refusing to renew his contract and his future with Rachel uncertain, Scott has some big decisions to make and a lot to prove—especially to himself.

Thanks to NetGalley and Carina Press for the ARC

I love being surprised by a book. I went into this one thinking it would be the typical sports star and his quest for love type book. I was absolutely wrong. Back in Play is an incredibly intense story that deals with a delicate subject matter.

REVIEW : Only Trick by Jewel E. Ann

SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE : April 13, 2015
“Don’t Look Back in Anger”
In one night, I lost five years of my life. Here’s what I know …

I was homeless.

I’m a recovering drug addict.

My inked skin crawls from lustful eyes.

I have a serious aversion to women.

My gay partner is a home wrecker.

I own a gun and I’m a damn good shot.

I’m a makeup artist, but it’s an insult to my talent.

I’ve never wanted to possess anything except my Ducati … until I met Darby.

Now here’s what I know since that day in the ER when she pieced me back together … nothing—but a few random thoughts.

My new “friend” is distracting, clingy, and obsessed with acronyms, emojis, and phrases like “breakfast soul mates.”

I didn’t want to like her, but she crawled under my skin and swallowed me whole. Now we’re best friends and she’s my new addiction. I'd drink her from a shot glass, snort her up my nose, or inject her into my veins if I could. What I won’t do … is ever tell her that.

She doesn’t know me … I don’t know me. When those missing years come back, I think she will hate me … I think I will hate me.

My parents named me Patrick Roth, and this is my story.

Major thanks to NetGalley for this amazing ARC.

These past few months I have been very lucky to get access to some really wonderful reads from some authors that maybe I wouldn’t have checked out on my usual book run. Jewel E Ann (cute) is now on my TBR list. Only Trick has just stolen my soul.

What won't he do for a second chance?

Former model Kelly Hurley has finally put the ashes of the past behind her. After a passionate but turbulent marriage to rock star Vaughan Hurley that ended in heartbreak and divorce, Kelly rebuilt her life in Portland, where she settled so their two young daughters could be close to their father. Just not so close Kelly couldn't truly make her own way without interference from the man who shattered her heart. Now Kelly's finally ready to move on, and she's planning to marry another man.

But not if Vaughan has anything to say about it.

Vaughan knows he was a fool all those years ago. A young, selfish—and prideful—fool. Even as he buried himself in the fast, decadent rock-star lifestyle, he could never drown out the memory of Kelly's beauty and love. Or the sweet, searing heat whenever they touched. For years, he's had to deal with the pain of seeing her only because of their daughters, but it was never enough. Now Vaughan must prove that he's the only man Kelly needs, before he loses her for good. And there's only one way to do it…
Major thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Books for the ARC.

There are some stories you read where you just feel yourself getting sucked in and falling head over heels for the characters. Lauren Dane does this for me in almost all of her books.

REVIEW : Shaken (L.A Nights #3) by Sylvie Fox

Jessie Morales chose her career over love five years ago. Now she’s finally seeing her hard choices pay off. A possible promotion to the KESP news desk is in the works. Except, right after her boss gives her the good news—an earthquake hits, leaving her trapped in an elevator facing the demons from her past.

With both their careers on the line, both of their families determined to keep them apart, and the unresolved betrayals from the past, can Cameron convince Jessie to take a risk when fate offers them a second chance?

REVIEW : Hard Ride (Ready to Ride #4) by Opal Carew

SCHEDULED RELEASE DATES : ONE - April 7, 2015 / TWO - April 14, 2015 / THREE - April 28, 2015

Major thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC.

Hard Ride is broken down into a three part novel that together is book 4 in the Ready to Ride series.

Opal Carew is one of my favorite writers. She just takes erotica/smut to a whole different level. You can always expect to be left in a puddle by the end of her sex scenes. I love me a good and dirty biker series. I’ll review all 3 parts in this piece but I’ll signal book change.

REVIEW : Hate F*@k : The Horus Group Book 2 by Ainsley Booth

RELEASE DATE : March 23, 2015
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Then it’s business as usual.

Cole:
I screwed up, but I can fix this.

Hailey:
This can’t be fixed.

Big ole thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC.

*choir of angels sing*

YES! Finally part two of Hate Fuck has arrived! It is the fuck-awesome continuation of Cole and Hailey’s story.

No surprise that this is equally as great, if not better, than part one. The sex itself is ramped up by like a million degrees of unf. Holy hell just thinking about it, so good, can’t say it enough.
